Russel Metals Inc. is currently seeking an individual for the full time position of CAD PROGRAMMER in our Vancouver facility.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:
•Produce part and assembly drawings using Sigmanest, AutoCAD , and SolidWorks
•Prototyping parts using 3D modeling function in Radan CAD CAM software
•Create programs for plasma and oxy machines using Sigmanest and AutoCAD
•Create programs for multi axis press brakes using Sigmanest, Autocad, and Radan
•Create programs for multi axis saw mitering using Autocad and Radan
•Maintain drawings through the revision change process and drawing control system
•Assist in preparing time and material estimates on projects and quotes
•Focus on continuous improvement within a Lean Manufacturing and ISO 9001 environment
•Work under minimal supervision and understand the importance of producing quality work under strict deadlines

Education and Skills Required:
•5+ years experience as a CAD Programmer in a manufacturing environment
•Ability to read engineering drawings
•Familiar with metal processing and fabrication technologies
•Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
•Effective oral and written communication skills
•Experience with 3D modeling and nesting software
•Programming experience with multi axis machines
•Understanding of plasma and oxy cutting technology
•Familiar with press brake forming and flat layout development
•Experience within a Lean Manufacturing and ISO 9001 environment
•Proficient with Microsoft Excel
•Proficient with SigmaNEST CAD CAM software
•Proficient in Solidworks software
•Solidworks Essentials 1 Training
•Proficient in Autocad software
•Proficient Radan CAD CAM software
•Proven track record and portfolio in part manufacture
•Experience in office design and layout an asset

Salary range: $16.00 – $26.00
Hours of Work: 8:00 am — 4:00 pm
Location: New Westminster, British Columbia
