About the Job:

The Corix Group of Companies specializes in supplying products and utility solutions for sustainable utility infrastructure in the water, wastewater and energy sectors as well as providing field metering services.

Corix has an immediate opening for a regular full-time Accounts Payable Clerk at our Richmond Office. The successful candidate will have outstanding customer service, organizational and computer skills, be able to learn on the fly, thrive in a multi-tasking environment, and be a team player with a positive personality and strong work ethic. Attention to detail is a must.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Accounts Payable Clerk will be primarily required to provide support to the Manager, Financial Accounting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

1. Cheque printing process
•Working closely with other staff to ensure vendor payments are made according to schedule;
•Preparing cheque batches by selecting appropriate criteria and cheque printing;
•Ensuring the proper and timely distribution of cheques;
•Maintaining cheque logs and ensuring appropriate controls are followed;
•Communicating with vendors occasionally regarding payment instructions, tracking lost payments, etc.

2. Consolidated bills processing
•Modifying electronic data received from vendors using Excel templates;
•Confirming proper charge allocation;
•Uploading data files and posting expenses to GL;
•Ensuring monthly posting deadlines are met;

3. Processing and posting miscellaneous purchase invoices

4. Providing vacation relief to other group members

Additional clerical duties that are supportive of the Accounts Payable Department will be added as the clerk grows into their role.

Qualifications:

•Minimum 2 years related relevant work experience in a Finance department;
•Exceptional time management and organizational abilities;
•Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high degree of customer service, while prioritizing and balancing competing interests;
•High adaptability to change;
•Excellent command of English, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must;
•Intermediate computer skills using Windows and MS Office Suite;
•Navision or similar ERP financial systems experience considered an asset;
•Ability to self-motivate and be an effective team player;
•Strong attention to detail, good judgment and problem solving skills;
•Discretion with confidential matters;
•Willing to take on ad hoc projects.
